Peloton to Launch New Class Type: "Yoga + Pilates" - Peloton Buddy

Peloton members may have noticed an intriguing addition on the upcoming schedule: a new “Yoga + Pilates” class type.

There is now a 45 minute “Yoga + Pilates” class with Anna Greenberg scheduled for Monday, November 4 at 7:30am ET.

The full details are still under wraps – including the official class description – but it appears Peloton is preparing to launch a new class type.

While Peloton is not the first fitness company to blend Yoga and Pilates – two distinct forms of movement that share some overlap – there has never been a joint Yoga and Pilates class on the Peloton platform.

Members may have heard of “Yogilates” or “PiYo,” which are fitness hybrids that combine elements of yoga and Pilates, offering a workout that blends the strength and stability of Pilates with the flexibility and mindfulness of yoga.

The launch of an overlap class on the platform could be Peloton’s way of encouraging members who have not tried Pilates to explore its offerings by working it into a more established modality, as Peloton has offered yoga on the platform for a much longer amount of time and with a more extensive offering of classes. With yoga’s emphasis on mindfulness, flexibility, and balance, and Pilates’ focus on core strength and stability, the combination could offer a unique workout that appeals to fans of both.

It is currently unclear how frequently this new “Yoga + Pilates” class type will be offered on the platform, and which instructors will teach it. There are currently only two instructors who teach both yoga and Pilates: Anna Greenberg and Aditi Shah.

Peloton recently re-added instructor Rebecca Kennedy to the regular Pilates roster; another sign that they are working on expanding and investing in their Pilates content.

We will share details on this new class type as they become available. In the meantime, you can take the debut “Yoga + Pilates” class with Anna on Monday, November 4 at 7:30am ET.

Are you excited to see this new class type from Peloton, and will you be opting in?
